Apprenticeships

I’m Aaron a Building Services and Engineering apprentice at Aston Group.

I have always wanted to do a domestic gas apprenticeship and was offered this particular role that caught my attention, so I decided to take a chance. I am currently completing a Building Services and Engineering apprenticeship. I am currently in my 3rd year but before this I was emailing people constantly for over a year for an apprenticeship waiting patiently for a response.

The reason I chose an apprenticeship was because you can learn whilst you work and earn a good living, and for me, it's the best way to earn a qualification.

Some of my day-to-day tasks include plant room checks on hot water and heating to properties ensuring boilers, pumps, cylinders and pipework are up to standard and not faulty.

I feel really welcomed by everyone that I have worked with at Aston Group.

The advice that I'd give to someone wanting become an apprentice would be, make sure you know exactly what you want to do and have a plan for your future and stay with it! Also ensure you listen, work hard and take advice from everyone you work with

Having an apprenticeship is the best way forward for young people that want to work, earn and learn at the same time.
