Application process and upcoming events
We host two recruitment events per year—in March and June—at local community centres and colleges. These events are designed to inform, inspire, and prepare participants for careers in construction.
*Apprenticeship applications will only be considered upon attendance to our Get into Construction recruitment events and apprenticeship applications will only be open in March and June*.

Event Schedule - What to expect
Day One - Launch and Networking Day
- Registration and welcome
- Introduction to roles within the construction industry
- Meet Aston Group colleagues and industry professionals
- Informal networking to help identify your ideal career path
Day Two - CV Writing Workshop
- Create a professional CV and
cover letter - Learn how to tailor applications
to specific roles - Get one-to-one support and
feedback
Day Three - Interview Skills Workshop
- Build confidence for real interviews
- Practice answering common questions
- Learn how to showcase your skills and potential

What happens next?
Following the 3-day event, 6 standout participants will be invited to complete a 2-week unpaid work experience placement in a suitable department that fits the needs of the candidate.
→ Health & Safety induction
→ Introduction to Aston Group’s work environment
→ Hands-on practical experience alongside our teams
Participants who impress during this stage may be invited to complete an additional 4-week unpaid placement. Up to 4 participants from each cohort who successfully complete both placements will receive a guaranteed interview for an apprenticeship position.

Eligibility criteria
To apply for this programme, you must:
→ Be aged 16 or over
→ Have a Maths and English qualification (GCSE or equivalent)
→ Have the right to work in the UK
