The Health & Housing Impact Network has identified practical ways to overcome the barriers to deliver health and environmental benefits through housing development.

The Network members spent the last year looking at housing projects across London to find ways to increase climate and health equity. The findings are featured in their guide for new build and retrofit homes.
Aston Group worked with the Future of London offering our insight on retrofitting older buildings, focussing on Greenleaf Road, the eco show home in Walthamstow. We addressed the challenges and considerations including the health impacts of retrofitting. Today, the Future of London have released a guide to delivering housing, climate change and health equity.

They've uncovered common tensions, which we recommend project teams consider from the outset of a new build or retrofit project. These include the major tension of balancing affordability vs the cost and viability of measures that improve health and environmental performance.
