Celebrating a 100% gas safety partnership record for Aston Group this Gas Safety Week

Here are some gas safety tips endorsed by our team:

• Your annual gas safety check should be arranged by your landlord with a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer. By making sure you are available for the annual check and regular servicing of gas appliances, you help people stay safe.

• Registered gas engineers should carry a Gas Safe ID card. You can check that the engineer is Gas Safe registered by asking to see their ID card when they attend the property. This may be a physical or digital card, and you can reassure yourself they are genuine by checking their Gas Safe ID and the Gas Safe Register website.

• Regularly test your carbon monoxide (CO) alarm as carbon monoxide leaks can be silent and deadly. The six carbon monoxide poisoning signs include: Headaches, dizziness, breathlessness, nausea, collapse and loss of consciousness. Regular testing of your CO alarm helps to keep everyone safe.

• Act quickly in a gas or carbon monoxide emergency. If you suspect CO poisoning or a gas leak, follow these steps: Turn off any gas appliance causing concern if it is safe to do so, go outside away from the property and call the gas emergency number on 0800 111 999. Seek medical attention immediately if you feel unwell.
