Aston Group brings together the next generation of industry talent

From local communities to future leaders: how Aston Group is creating career opportunities through apprenticeships, mentoring and social value programmes

Aston Group Apprentices

At Aston Group, we believe that the future of our business depends on the people we invest in today. That is why developing apprentices and creating meaningful pathways into employment remains a key part of our commitment to building stronger communities, delivering social value and securing the next generation of industry talent.

Our recent Apprentice Meeting brought together apprentices from across the business to share experiences, discuss their development journeys and explore the opportunities ahead of them. The event highlighted not only the breadth of talent within Aston Group, but also the importance of creating accessible routes into rewarding careers.

Creating opportunities through community engagement

Our apprentices represent a diverse range of disciplines, including Site Management, Accounting, Electrical Engineering and Gas Engineering. Each individual brings unique skills, perspectives and ambitions, helping to strengthen the future of our business and the wider industry.

Many of our apprentices first connected with Aston Group through our successful Get into Construction and Women in Construction programmes.

These initiatives allow us to engage directly with people in our local communities, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations about careers within the construction and building services sector. Through work experience placements and introductory programmes, individuals gain first-hand insight into the industry while our teams have the opportunity to identify talent that aligns with Aston Group's values and culture.

This approach helps remove barriers to employment and creates accessible routes into rewarding careers for people who may not otherwise have considered a future in construction.

Investing in future careers

Apprenticeships are a vital part of Aston Group's long-term strategy for developing talent. They provide a structured pathway for individuals to gain industry-recognised qualifications while building practical experience alongside experienced professionals.

For apprentices, this means access to mentoring, training and support that helps them develop the skills and confidence needed to build successful careers.

For Aston Group, it creates a sustainable talent pipeline of individuals who share our values of Building Trust, Driving Quality, Having Respect and Delivering Together.

A win-win for people and communities

Our apprenticeship programme delivers benefits that extend far beyond the workplace. By creating opportunities for local people, supporting skills development and encouraging long-term employment, we contribute to stronger communities and lasting social value.

The Apprentice Meeting highlighted the enthusiasm, dedication and potential of the individuals who are helping to shape the future of Aston Group. From future engineers and surveyors to project managers and business leaders, these apprentices represent the next generation of talent within our industry.

We are proud of their achievements so far and look forward to supporting them throughout their careers as they continue to grow, develop and make a positive impact across our business and the communities we serve.

At Aston Group, developing people isn't just part of what we do. It's part of who we are. By investing in local talent today, we are helping to build a stronger workforce, stronger communities and a stronger future for tomorrow.
