We had great success at their last careers event, when we met an impressive young plumbing apprentice Lisa, who wanted to know if we could help her complete her gas portfolio by providing her with some work experience.

Our Pipeline to Employment programme was created for exactly this reason, to attend local careers events and identify emerging talent. Lisa impressed our Social Value Manager, Rachel so much with her maturity, positive attitude and her extensive knowledge and commitment, that she agreed to provide support with work experience placements. She also reached out to our Domestic Gas Manager to see if there was potential to offer Lisa a gas apprenticeship with us.

Following her successful interview, we were delighted to create an apprenticeship and offer Lisa a place with the team.

We invited Chris Masters, our new Aston Group Managing Director, to see the how the Pipeline to Employment initiative has worked with Lisa while Matt delivered a presentation to promote the importance of low carbon technologies, showcasing our award winning retrofit projects promoting a variety of career paths.
