Aston Group Shortlisted for Two Energy Efficiency Awards 2026
We are delighted to announce that Aston Group has been shortlisted for not one, but two nominations at the Energy Efficiency Awards 2026, a fantastic recognition of the work our teams have delivered alongside some brilliant partners over the past year.
Nomination 1: Enfield Solar Schools Programme
Our Enfield Solar Schools programme has been shortlisted at the national Energy Efficiency Awards 2026, and it's a project we're incredibly proud of.
In the summer of 2025, Aston Group delivered a solar PV programme across three schools in Enfield — Westgrove Primary School, Garfield Primary and Durants Pitfield School — in partnership with Enfield Council and funded through the Greater London Authority's Greener Schools Grant. The programme was delivered via the LHC Procurement Group N9 Retrofit and Decarbonisation Framework, on which Aston Group placed first for Solar PV and Electrical Energy Storage Systems.
During the school summer holiday window, our teams installed 238 high-efficiency solar panels across all three sites — every one delivered safely, on time and within budget.
The results speak for themselves:
- 92,709 kWh of clean electricity generated per year
- £54,568 saved annually across the three schools
- 23 tonnes of CO₂ cut every year
- £2m+ in projected long-term savings
But beyond the numbers, what makes this project truly special is the community impact. Through hands-on presentations delivered to 864 pupils, we were able to bring sustainability to life in the classroom — inspiring the next generation about what a greener future looks like in practice.
This shortlisting is a testament to what's possible when a contractor, a council and a community come together with a shared purpose. Thank you to everyone at Enfield Council and the GLA for making this happen.

Nomination 2: London Regional Energy Efficiency Awards — London Borough of Waltham Forest
Our second shortlisting is for the London Regional Energy Efficiency Awards 2026, recognising the retrofit work delivered in partnership with the London Borough of Waltham Forest through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2.2 and Warm Homes Wave 3 programmes.
From Wave 1 through to Wave 2.2 and now Wave 3, our partnership with Waltham Forest has consistently demonstrated what's achievable when local authorities and contractors work together with a shared vision: warmer homes, lower bills and greener communities for residents.
This nomination is a reflection of the dedication shown by every person involved — from the teams on the ground to those working behind the scenes. This recognition truly belongs to all of you.
We are keeping our fingers crossed ahead of both awards and wish the very best of luck to all shortlisted nominees. Recognitions like these reinforce why we do what we do — delivering meaningful, lasting change for the communities we serve.
