Aston Group is underway with major energy efficiency upgrade at Kirkstead Court

Aston Group is pleased to announce the start of works at Kirkstead Court in the London Borough of Hackney, as part of our ongoing five-year partnership with Hackney Council to decarbonise existing homes and improve energy efficiency across the borough.

The project will deliver a new communal heating system to the 74-home social housing block, incorporating Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) alongside Solar PV and battery storage. Once complete, the scheme will significantly reduce carbon emissions while providing residents with a more efficient and sustainable heating solution.

Supporting Hackney’s decarbonisation ambitions

Our collaboration with the London Borough of Hackney focuses on upgrading existing housing stock and expanding the use of district and communal heating systems, helping to support a more sustainable future for residents and local communities.

By combining low-carbon technologies with modern infrastructure, this project will contribute to improved energy performance, reduced reliance on fossil fuels and long-term environmental benefits.

Works progressing well on site

This week, members of the Aston Group team visited the site to see progress first-hand. The project team walked us through the works underway, and it was encouraging to see just how much has already been achieved in the early stages.

Key milestones completed to date include:

• A new water storage unit successfully installed within the grounds
• New water mains installed
• Air Source Heat Pumps delivered to site
• Risers drilled across all floors
• Solar PV delivered, with installation now underway
